Sportshall Team Trials - 12th Sept

Discover the Thrill of Sportshall Athletics

Athletics clubs in the Leicestershire and Rutland area select teams in the U12, U14, and U16 (new age groups, apologies for error in image) categories to compete in various Sportshall events.

• U12 - age 10 & 11 as of the 31st August 2027

• U14 -  age 12 & 13 as of the 31st August 2027

• U16 -  age 14 & 15 as of the 31st August 2027

At Ivanhoe Robins, we take pride in participating each year - with our own coaches, Gary & Sharon being the organisers and team managers for the L&R team. Last year, we achieved something amazing—we won all the categories! Some of our talented Robins athletes went on to represent Leicestershire and Rutland at the Sportshall Regional Finals. From there, several of our U13 and U15 athletes reached the UK National Finals and proudly brought home medals for our trophy cabinet! Fifi Ball our U15 athlete was crowned the UK champion, a national title at such a young age, brilliant :-) 

Sportshall Trials: Your Chance to Shine (& have alot of fun!)

Due to the limited number of athletes we can place in a team, we hold a Sportshall trials session to record results. This helps us select the best athletes for our teams. If your child is interested in being part of the team, we would love for them to join us at the trials on the 12th of September. If you have any questions, feel free to speak to Gary or Sharon!

🕰️ Time: 9 am to 11:15 am (for all interested athletes)

📍 Location: Ivanhoe Sportshall

9️⃣ Minimum Age: Year 5 - Sportshall dates are now in line with school years / track & field & Cross-Country dates

Ivanhoe Sportshall will be set up with all the events shown in the poster. We will record distances and times achieved. These results help us pick the team alongside other available data.

• Athletes aged 7-9 will have a normal session from 9 am to 10 am as usual.

• Athletes in the second session who are in school year 11 and over will have their own session from 10:15 am to 11:15 am as usual, or they can come and help with the trials.
