Summer Training Dates

This year Robins celebrates 30 years of introducing athletics to the children of Ashby. We will be celebrating by way of a BBQ at the Ashby Rugby club on the early evening of 4th Sept 2026. We have booked a great BBQ & DJ and just need a small contribution to help us know numbers of £2.50 per person. We have to know if you want tickets very urgently now, so we can tell the caterers the numbers to expect. Email us with how many tickets you require and we will provide payment

From 1 April 2026, the age groups in which young athletes compete under UKA rules will change from U13, U15, U17 and U20, to U14, U16, U18 and U20.

Thank you to all the athletes, families and friends who joined us on Sunday at the Knighton Tennis Centre for yet another fantastic Dome Challenge! The Dome Challenge is a great introduction to multi-event competitions for our younger athletes and the chance to compete indoors during the winter. Each athlete took part in four events - including a sprint, throw, jump and longer distance race. And children compete in year groups for points in each event, and medals awarded for

February 8 th saw several of our athletes head to Grantham to compete for Leics & Rutland at the East Midlands Regional Sportshall Champs. They all did magnificently with wins for the U11 Girls and Boys, U13 Boys and U15 Boys and second place for the U13 and U15 Girls U15 Individual champion – Fifi Ball The under 13 & 15 Boys plus Fifi, all go to the UK Finals in Stoke in April. This March sees the return of the Dome Challenge - a Run –Jump-Throw athletics challenge for young athletes in school years 3,4,5,6. 🏃‍➡️Years 3/4/5/6 compete 12:45-16:45 🏃‍➡️Medals for the first three boys and girls in each age category 🏃‍➡️Sprint, longer run (400/600m), Chest Push (1kg) and Standing Long Jump Entry fee - £5 per athlete Entries must be submitted by 11th March Let Gary or Sharon know if your athlete would like to take part, or send an email to: ivanhoerobi

For those that took part in the Derby Runner cross country, results below. Hope you have all had a great Cross-Country season.

This year, the annual Robins Mince Pie run will be held at Ivanhoe School on the field. Fun run starts at 10am 🎅Its Free – mince pies and treats provided 🎅All Welcome - bring your parents, siblings, dogs and enjoy a fun run dressed in all your Christmas finery! Athletes pair up with a parent or member of Ivanhoe Runners and run the course together. The first pairing to cross the finish line will collect a prize. On the 22nd November, all the glitz and clamour of the awards ceremony took Hugglescote by storm and we had a great night celebrating the achievements of our athletes. Congratulations to all those who received an award! Keep up the great work and we look forward to seeing what Robins athletes achieve during 2026.
